Did the Williams team accidentally announce the driver line-up for 2024?

Williams driver Logan Sargent is the only driver on the grid who still does not have a confirmed contract for next season. This has led to speculation that he could be replaced by Mick Schumacher or Liam Lawson. More recently, Mercedes junior Frederic Vesti, who became vice-champion of Formula 2, became another candidate.

But as rumors spread, Williams continued to support Sargent, with team boss James Vowles speaking out about his progress. And if you listen to the conversation on the radio with the American engineer Gaetan Djego after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it seems that his future in the team is still assured.

Jago: “16th place, and we are seventh in the championship. I think it was a good race.”

Sargent: “Thank you for this year, it was a pleasure working with you. We’ve had our ups and downs, but I really feel like we’re picking up the pace and getting stronger and stronger. And yes, I hope we can continue like this. Thank you guys!”.

Jago: “Thank you, Logan. Looking forward to next year, mate.”

Sargent was next congratulated on the end of the season by Vowles, adding: “Well done, I’m sorry you didn’t have a car capable of more today. You’ve made a great contribution this year. I’m proud to watch you grow. Now we face winter and much more.”
