Fire crews battled a massive fire at an apartment building in Queens on Wednesday, which started shortly before 8:30 p.m. between the fifth and sixth floors.
The initial investigation revealed that the fire may have started in a fifth floor apartment and then spread to the sixth floor.
According to the FDNY, the seven-story residential building is located at 22-11 New Haven Avenue in Far Rockaway.
Three apartments between the fifth and sixth floors were completely devastated, while other units suffered minor damage.
The incident exceeded three alarms and up to 140 members of the Fire Department were required to extinguish the flames.
The FDNY reported that three casualties were transported to Nassau County Medical Center with minor injuries and another was evaluated at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
