- ICE trains with an additional stop in Stendal: they can also be used by passengers who want to travel to Wolfsburg. The RB 35 line connects Stendal to Wolfsburg and the journey takes about 60 minutes.
- Between Hanover and Wolfsburg, travelers should use the IC trains to Braunschweig Hauptbahnhof. There is a replacement bus service between Braunschweig and Wolfsburg, the journey time is approximately one hour.
- For travel between Berlin and Göttingen: Travelers should use ICE trains via Erfurt Hauptbahnhof. The RE 1 line connects Erfurt and Göttingen, the journey time is about 100 minutes.
- When traveling between Berlin and Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, Deutsche Bahn recommends long-distance connections with changes in Eisenach and Fulda.
Deutsche Bahn: Hanover-Berlin line closed after the accident
