Deputy Chair of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, Silfester Matutina responded to Ahok asking about President Joko Widodo’s work (Jokowi) and the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka. He said that Ahok’s criticism was actually beneficial for candidate pair number 2.
“I think that’s good. Good for us candidate pair 2, disaster and disaster for candidate pair number 3,” said Silfester in Bandung, West Java, Friday (9/2/2024).
“So, if he says that Mas Gibran, especially Mr Jokowi, can’t work, Mr Ahok is very tendentious in our opinion,” he added.
Silfester also gave an example during the COVID-19 pandemic, where at that time, President Jokowi took several actions to deal with this period. If important decisions are not taken by Jokowi during the COVID era, it will cause big problems.
“Let’s take the example of Pak Jokowi during COVID, if it wasn’t for Pak Jokowi, President Jokowi, to take action, for example buying up medicines at that time and also for COVID and not implementing a lockdown, I think Indonesia would be headed for destruction, and what would happen would be us “The nation’s children could be hostile to each other and possibly kill each other,” he said.
Silfester continued, later the public themselves will judge Ahok’s statement. He said that Ahok was in trouble because of his own statement.
“So, I think the public will judge Mr. Ahok’s mouth. Because Mr. Ahok’s mouth is like a tiger. So he is in trouble because of his mouth,” he said.
Previously, Ahok’s statement went viral on social media asking whether President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Gibran could work? Later, Ahok himself felt that his sentence was cut in the viral video.
He stated that his sentence was truncated. What he meant by ‘unable to work’ was ‘unable to work without a party’.
“I convey the meaning of Jokowi and Gibran’s statement that they cannot work alone without a party,” said Ahok as reported by detikbali, Wednesday (7/2).
“My statement at that time was cut into pieces. It was cut into pieces, the same as Buni Yani’s before. It’s normal for people to curse at me,” he said.
