Depok Walkot Proposes Unity of Greater Jakarta, Deputy Governor of DKI: Submit it to the Center

Jakarta

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to the suggestion of the Mayor of Depok, Mohammad Idris, regarding Jakarta Raya. Riza suggested that the proposal should be submitted to the central government.

“The proposal will be submitted to the Central Government. We, the DKI Provincial Government, fully submit the policy to the Central Government and other regions for joint discussion,” Riza told reporters, Tuesday (12/7/2022).

Riza said the proposal to unite the buffer zones with Jakarta had been submitted by the previous Governor of DKI, Sutiyoso. This is because the affairs between Jakarta and the buffer zones cannot be separated.

“We leave it to the central government,” he added.

Previously reported, Mayor Idris suggested that the suburbs of Jakarta be merged into Greater Jakarta. This is one of the ideas for the success of Jakarta’s development.

“One of my ideas is that if you want the development of Jakarta and its surroundings to be successful, unite Greater Jakarta,” said Mohammad Idris after reviewing the slaughtering of sacrifices on Jalan H Icang, Tugu Village, Cimanggis.

According to Idris, the problems that exist in the Jakarta buffer zone can be easily resolved if the areas are merged. He also mentioned the role of one governor for the region’s incorporation.

“The flood problem, what problems can all be solved. If one governor of Greater Jakarta, “he said.

He confirmed Depok’s statement that he wanted to enter the Jakarta area. However, Idris did not explain in detail the reasons behind it.
