Depok City Health Office Acknowledges Errors in Supplementary Food Program Menu

DEPOK, KOMPAS.com – The menu for the Depok City Health Service (Dinkes) supplementary food program (PMT) in Tapos District has drawn criticism from the public.

The reason is, the prevention menu stunting which is served with a budget of IDR 18,000 per package only in the form of rice, soup and boiled tofu.

The community considers that this dish is not able to support children’s nutritional intake.

Responding to these findings, the Depok City Health Office admitted that there were errors in the PMT program in Tapos District.

“In Tapos District there are menu discrepancies and there are instructions that are not appropriate,” said Head of the Depok City Health Service, West Java, Mary Liziawati to journalists in Depok, Wednesday (15/11/2023).

According to Mary, the error occurred because the posyandu cadres who distributed additional food were not properly socialized.

“It is hoped that by yesterday it would have been socialized to lower level cadres, but there are cadres who might be left behind. Like in Tapos, there has not been good coordination across sectors on the first day,” said Mary.

In fact, other sub-districts in Depok City apply the PMT menu as stipulated by the Health Office, namely in the form of snacks for six days, and a complete meal on the seventh day.

“Because in other sub-districts the menu is correct, it works well. In other sub-districts it’s snacks, but in Tapos it’s rice, like that,” said Mary.

Reflecting on this incident, Mary claimed to have evaluated the PMT program in Tapos on Friday (10/11/2023) so that the PMT menu the following day was in accordance with the standards set by the Depok Health Office.

“So this is our evaluation. We have carried out an intense evaluation regarding this incident. Thank God, on the second day, Tapos District has improved the menu, the menu is in the form of snacks according to the provisions,” said Mary.
