Ras Al Khaimah, April 19, 2020, WAM: The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah implemented 8 Ramadan initiatives and activities targeting employees, workers in commercial markets, investors, and various segments of society, in addition to issuing circulars and decisions aimed at supporting businesses and stimulating trade during the holy month.
The department broadcasted an episode of its “Economy Live” program to talk about the “Your breakfast is on us” initiative, in which it participated by joining its employees to contribute to the preparation, preparation and organization of nearly 4,000 meals for fasting people, in cooperation with one of the most prominent restaurants in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The department also participated in the “Ramadan Safety” campaign as well, by distributing Iftar meals to drivers at the main road intersections in the emirate, as well as bringing happiness to the hearts of workers in commercial establishments by organizing a campaign to distribute Iftar meals in the main markets. The department organized the “Happy Eid” initiative, in cooperation with Al Ihsan Charity Association, which aimed to distribute new Eid clothes to children on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
In cooperation with the blood bank at Saqr Governmental Hospital, the department organized the “Drop of Life” initiative, and its employees took the initiative to donate blood through it.
In order to achieve the objectives of protecting trademarks and intellectual property, the Department of Commercial Protection in the department organized the awareness initiative “Protect your products” in order to increase the awareness of merchants, especially in Ramadan, with the increase in the percentage of purchases, the large number of offers, and the growth of commercial traffic.
The department also organized, in cooperation with the Emirates Health Services Corporation, represented by Saqr Governmental Hospital, a Ramadan session entitled: “Zayed Sustainability… Legacy and Future” in the presence and participation of a group of prominent national personalities in Ras Al Khaimah and the Emirates, on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
And as part of its support for the business community in Ras Al Khaimah, the department issued a decision allowing all commercial establishments in Ras Al Khaimah to work 24 hours without the need to obtain a permit from the department during the holy month of Ramadan.
It launched its new service, “Eid Emergency”, through which it announced its readiness to receive customer complaints around the clock during Eid days, and set an emergency number (0504321966).
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Shayeb Al-Naqbi, Director General of the Department, stated that the Department focuses its efforts on supporting the business community and society as a whole, so our initiatives came in the month of Ramadan, targeting customers, investors and various segments of society, pursuant to achieving the principle of social responsibility along with striving to achieve the objectives and vision of the Department.
