A dentist from Würzburg made it exciting: David Thelen easily fights his way to the 500,000 euro question on the TV show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”. He hadn’t even used two of his jokers yet. But from then on things got tricky.
Günther Jauch, the moderator, asked him the crucial question: “Which country is the only one in the world whose entire territory is more than 1000 meters above sea level?” But the 32-year-old didn’t know the answer to that.
He used the audience joker – but his answer didn’t convince him 100%.

Thelen was still unsure and decided to also use his telephone joker. His friend Frederik Hippe guessed Lesotho, but wasn’t entirely sure either. Although only four percent of the audience chose Lesotho, Thelen trusted his friend and chose this option.
After the commercial break there was a visibly enthusiastic cheer and indeed: the correct answer is Lesotho. By the way, the lowest point in Bhutan is only 97 meters above sea level and in Bolivia it is 90 meters. Andorra is also under 1000 meters with 840 meters above sea level.
Then the time had come: time for the million dollar question.

However, the million dollar question was over – Thelen decided to get out. He had no idea which Chancellor had come into office through the first postal vote in German history. The answer to the question would have been Konrad Adenaur, David Thelen would have guessed Willy Brandt.
With the money he won, Thelen plans to travel to all Grand Slam finals. He will definitely take his mother and his girlfriend with him. Finally, a tip from dentist Thelen on how to brush your teeth correctly: After brushing, you should only spit out the foam and not rinse with water.
