Detachment 88 of the National Police suspect an explosion in front of the parents’ house Veronica Koman in West Jakarta related to attitude Veronica about Papua. The explosion is thought to be to convey a threatening message to the occupants of the house.
“Additional evidence in the form of a written message alluding to Veronica Koman’s actions in defending the KKB group in Papua was found in the garage of Veronica Koman’s sister’s parents’ house. It is thought to be a form of threat to the residents of the house related to Veronica Koman’s actions,” said the Head of Operations Assistance. Densus 88 Kombes Aswin Siregar told reporters, Monday (8/11/2021).
The Densus 88 team has visited the site of the explosion and gathered information. However, Densus 88 has not been able to conclude that the explosion came from a bomb.
“It can’t be concluded that the object that made the sound of the explosion was a bomb, like the bomb materials commonly used by existing terror groups, and from the monitoring of the terror group network that we have monitored, it has not shown any connection to this incident,” said Aswin.
Aswin said the Densus 88 team and the West Jakarta Police were still working to deal with the explosion incident in front of the parents’ house Veronica Koman. Witness testimony and evidence are still being collected.
“We are investigating this, sir. Although there is evidence in the form of a letter at the crime scene that mentions this, we still have to collect evidence related to this,” said Aswin.
As is known, the explosion occurred in front of Veronica Koman’s parents’ house in the West Jakarta area, Sunday (7/11) at around 12.00 WIB. There were no casualties or material losses in this incident.
Police are still investigating the motive for throwing the firecrackers. The police are also currently waiting for the results of the Labfor to determine what object exploded at Veronica Koman’s parents’ house.
