JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A number of employees Entertainment area who joined the Jakarta Entertainment Entrepreneurs Association (Asphija) held a rally in front of the City Hall Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (07/21/2020).
In their action, they demanded that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) open an entertainment center in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The reason was that the entertainment place employees experienced an economic crisis due to not working during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Employees assess that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is not paying attention to their fate, because entertainment venues are not permitted to operate during the extension of the transitional large-scale social limitation (PSBB).
“Help us, Mr. Anies, please open up the entertainment center,” said one of the employees of the entertainment center from the command car.
The employees who held the demonstration also shouted appeals for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to open an entertainment venue.
“Mr. Governor, please open our business,” shouted one of the demonstrators.
“We also need money, sir. We are entertainment employees, tireless, fearless,” shouted other demonstrators.
Not only that, the demonstrators also carried banners containing demands to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government including the readiness of the employees to work by implementing the Covid-19 health protocol.

“Don’t choose favoritism,” wrote one of the banners the protesters carried.
“We need certainty,” wrote another banner statement.
“Pot installments and others, unable to pay because they have been unemployed for too long.”

For information, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan previously extended large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) during the first phase of the transition.
PSBB transition extended for two weeks, starting Friday (07/17/2020) until July 30, 2020.
Anies said, during the extended PSBB transition, health protocols to prevent Covid-19 must be ensured to be carried out with discipline.
Anies asked all citizens to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.
During the extension of the transition PSBB, continued Anies, the DKI Provincial Government postponed a number of activities that should have been permitted to start operating, one of which was an entertainment venue.
