The rally was organized by Josée Turmel and Éric Duhaime.
Ms. Turmel, a former TV host, has partnered with the conspirators on several occasions since the start of the pandemic. His participation in several events questioning the pandemic and the work of the government has been noticed.
Radio host Éric Duhaime, who held the FM93 microphone until very recently, takes a stand for the first time. He judges that the future of the children is rather “ruined” until now because of the COVID-19; wearing a mask at school “was too much”.

At the time, at my microphone, I was the first to denounce the exaggerated confinement, the wearing of compulsory masks … But here I think that when we attack 10-year-old children, we force them to wearing a mask when there is no proof of the merits of this decision is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. ”
He criticizes the addition of health measures even if statistics related to the pandemic are improving. He believes that “increasingly restrictive measures” are improvised and unnecessary.
Mr. Duhaime reiterates that no child has died from the virus in Canada. “That’s enough, we have to put our foot down. This is the first demonstration in which I take part today, I did not take part before for several reasons, it was presented as groups of strange people. There, we have well-placed people who explain to us. “
Mr. Duhaime also considers that the measures are poorly presented. “It’s not science anymore, it’s politics.”
Ms. Turmel and Mr. Duhaime invited a bunch of people to speak on Sunday. Among them, a former doctor now retired, teachers, specialized educators and a microbiologist.
All defended the negative effects that the mask could have on the development of children, among other things that verbal communication is a fundamental aspect in their education.
Some specialists have also criticized the lack of scientific data proving that the pandemic is serious. In front of the crowd, speeches often referred to a government “gagging”.
Quebec police supervised the demonstration. Spokesman David Pelletier indicates that “everything went in the right order”. The event ended around 3 p.m. No major events were reported and the police made no arrests.
