Demon’s Souls will be “even more raw, merciless and deadly” on PS5

In an interview with PlayStation Blog about the new features of the DualSense, Gavin Moore, creative director of Japan Studio, discussed the impact of the PS5 its Demon’s Souls.

The game was recently ranked in Korea and Japan, and this has rekindled the hopes of fans about the possibility of it coming out as early as 2020.

“With the DualSense wireless controller and the power of haptic functions, we can spice up combat [in Demon’s Souls] even more raw, merciless and lethal», Moore explained.

“You will be able to hear every hit dealt while hitting enemies and casting spells. You will feel the full force of a titanic boss attack in your hands as you manage to land a timely defense. You will feel the metal hitting the metal when the enemies block your attacks or you block theirs.

The sensory feedback offered by the controller lets you know if your attacks hit and if your timely parry was successful, to react even more quickly and decisively.Even a simple action like pulling a lever becomes a sensory experience.

Tall this would never have been possible before. It would not have been possible to recreate the sensation of metal hitting metal or of fire coming to life in your hands as you conjure a spell.

Haptic feedback [è] an integral part of the experience and action, to immerse the player in the game world. Sight, hearing and touch come together to project this new generation of play into the future ».

After years of rumor, the project of a remake of the classic PlayStation 3 by From Software is now at hand, although the timing still needs to be defined.

Demon’s Souls was introduced at the PS5 June event, with titles that theoretically will not come out later than the first half of 2021, so the impression is that there will not be too long to wait anyway.

If you love soulslike and are armed with Sony consoles, you absolutely must not miss Bloodborne.
