Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Democratic Republic of the Congo defeated the Egyptian national team on penalties with a score of 7/8, after the end of regular and extra time in a 1-1 draw, in the second round of the African Cup of Nations finals.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo national team had taken the lead first in the 37th minute, then player Mustafa Mohamed scored the equalizer for the “Pharaohs” in the 45th minute +, and the tie between the two teams continued until after extra time, when they resorted to penalty kicks, which smiled in favor of the Egyptian national team’s competitor.
