JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV– The Israeli-Palestinian war has claimed hundreds of innocent lives. The impact was also felt by the date palm farmers in Jericho, an old city in Palestine bordering Jordan.
Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong, who was concerned about the outbreak of war, also ordered dates directly from the Jericho farmers. Apparently, the dates were sent directly to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

“To support my fellow date palm growers, I ordered directly from Palestine and with love I present to you,” Gilbert wrote, in a letter sent specifically to Anies Baswedan.
Anies, who received several boxes of dates and a letter, immediately posted them on Twitter and Facebook, Sunday (29/5/2021). Don’t forget to say thank you.
“I called him, thanked him. Express my appreciation. One concrete step is to buy products directly from Palestine,” Anies wrote. He also hopes that independence and peace will soon come to the Palestinian people.
