The Insólito de Actual Theater is a theater of proximity and designed for unusual spaces. A delicatessen theater, newly created and served by local groups. In this edition of the festival, a place will be opened in such unique settings as space 010 of the Logroño Town Hall, the Riojaforum underground parking, the Abastos square, the headquarters of the Popular University, Espacio Lagares, the IES Escultor Daniel sports center, the Círculo of Friendship and the Madre de Dios Civic Center. Seven companies from La Rioja will perform there and, as a guest, the plastic and scenic artist Andrea Díaz Reboredo to present ‘MAR’, a suggestive work of objects that merge into a choreography with the human body.
The general director of Culture, Ana Zabalegui, yesterday presented the stage programming of Actual 21 accompanied by Sonia Oliveira, from the A Scene association, and Alejandro Ramonda, in front of the Black Room.

Oliveira referred to the Insólito Theater after mentioning the strict security measures required by the pandemic. Alpiste Teatro vindicates and pays homage to the party rooms with its work ‘I want to dance with you’, Tres Tristes Tigres will propose an approach to the ‘Essence’ of art and Mon Teatro, a reflection on culture as a necessary and liberating element in ‘Terapia’. Peloponnese will present in ‘Strange Encounters’ a waitress who has not yet lost her dream of being an artist; Sergej Producciones’ ‘Winter Trip’ sounds like Schubert; Pampapyrón and Mago Mino will immerse the viewer in a dystopian and magical world, as well as Diego Calavia’s ‘X-Vocacions’. All those shows, with entry at 6 euros.
In the Black Room
The Black Room will see its capacity reduced from 140 to 40 seats during Actual 21. But “the theater is made thanks to the fact that the public comes,” says Alejandro Ramonda, that is why he invites you to enjoy the five shows scheduled in his small theater in La Lardero street, two for adults (with entry at 11 euros) and three for the family audience (7 euros).
For the former, ‘Orient Estrés’ (January 3 and 5), which takes us to the gym of two women who made a pact with the Magi from the East, and the survival comedy ‘Banana Boat’ (January 2 and 4) . The little ones have an appointment with ‘Hobo and the little world’ (days 2 and 4), ‘Chiquidrums’ (day 3) and ‘Tales from the cave’ (day 5). Sapo also presents for the family audience ‘¡Qué maja soy!’, On January 4 at the Gonzalo de Berceo.
