After the change of sides, the picture in the stands remained the same, our supporters set the tone as far as possible. Our capitals acted more energetically on the pitch, Ishak Belfodil belonged to our next opportunity after a Richter cross. But the header – already from a narrow offside position – missed its target (55th). After a nice pass from Lucas Tousart, who played his 50th competitive game for our colors, Richter tipped the artificial leather wide (57th). Our team pressed for the equaliser, but Flekken also deflected a shot from Richter over the goal (62′). Before the start of the final phase, Korkut had to change: U23 player Cimo Röcker also celebrated his blue and white Bundesliga premiere and replaced the injured Linus Gechter, Lee also came on for Darida (69th). Nine minutes later, two more changes followed: Davie Selke and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp were supposed to give new impetus, Belfodil and Richter had finished work. The Breisgauer were deep, waiting almost exclusively for counterattacks – one of which Grifo put past the far post (80th). Our old lady’s pressure phase ended abruptly when substitute Kevin Schade made it 2-0 three pointer turns later (83′).
