Decorative wooden huts, surprises and lots of music

The Musik-Kultur Albachten association invites young and old to the 16th edition of the Albachten Christmas market from December 1st to 3rd on the market square at Rottkamp. The market will be opened on December 1st (Friday) at 5 p.m. by district mayor Stephan Brinktrine and the club chairman Manfred Rösmann. The youth orchestra of the Albachten Music School under the direction of Lothar Esser will provide musical accompaniment.

The organizational team around Nicola Gleditsch also did very good preparatory work this year. The market offers very special shopping opportunities, according to a statement from the Musik-Kultur association. Many pre-Christmas surprises are offered in 13 decorative wooden huts. The huts are arranged in a round arch on the market square around an eight-meter-high illuminated fir tree. Children from the Claudius Kindergarten will decorate them atmospherically.

Albachten book as a Christmas present

The stands are decorated in a pre-Christmas atmosphere. Woodwork, Advent wreaths, Christmas and fashion decorations, natural products, glass jewelry, whitework, children’s items, light arches and much more are offered. Your physical well-being should be provided with grated biscuits, sausages, kale, French fries, waffles, coffee, cake and of course mulled wine. There is also the option to buy the book “Welcome to Albachten, history and stories from 875 years”, published by the Musik-Kultur association, as a possible Christmas present.

In the music-loving district of Albachten, students from the local music school – in groups and as individual artists – as well as other music clubs want to create a musical, Advent atmosphere at the Christmas market. The musical supporting program begins on December 1st (Friday) at 5 p.m. with a performance by the music school’s youth orchestra. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. there is also the “Open Meeting” and the creative workshop in the Albatros youth center.

Extensive musical supporting program

It continues on December 2nd (Saturday) at 3:30 p.m. with the performance of the music school children’s choir, at 4 p.m. with the music school’s “Blechstrudel”, at 6 p.m. with the MGV 68 along with individual artists and again the “Open Treff” (16 until 7 p.m.). On December 3rd (Sunday) the music school’s junior wind orchestra will perform at 3:30 p.m. and the Albachten Wind Band and individual artists will perform at 4 p.m.

Lucas Rösmann and Berni Drees and their helpers want to ensure an atmospheric pre-Christmas light ambience on market days. The Albachten Christmas market is open on December 1st from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., on December 2nd from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on December 3rd from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
