Declare constitutionality of the welfare reform

The president of the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union, Mónica Fernández Balboa, declared the constitutionality of the reform regarding Wellness and forwarded the decree to Official Journal of the Federation.

In the first matter of the session of the Permanent Commission, the computation of the votes gathered approving the reform, coming from the congresses of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Colima, Mexico City, Campeche, Chiapas, Coahuila, Durango , State of Mexico, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos Nayarit, Oaxaca, San Luis Potosí, Sionaloa, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.

The reforms and additions elevate the federal administration’s social programs to article 4 of the Constitution, including the Welfare health system, economic support for people with permanent disabilities and indigenous people; pensions for people over 68 years of age; scholarships at all levels of public education.
