From the end of his playing career where he scored 182 goals for Juve (second top scorer in club history behind Alessandro Del Piero), Giampiero Boniperti continued to serve his club forever. First, appointed technical supervisor by the Agnelli family, Boniperti became president in 1971. Under his leadership, the old lady recruited Michel Platini and Zbigniew Boniek, and won numerous titles on the continental and national scene. After leaving the presidency in 1990, Boniperti did not stray from Juve. First managing director until 1994, he was then honorary president. A status which gave him a certain moral authority, and to keep the ear of the Agnelli family, to which he remained close to the end.
