“Dear sadists and murderers”: with that salutation the members of student club Reuzegom sent an email around, a few days before the student baptism that would eventually cost the life of Sanda Dia (20). This is evident from a reconstruction of the facts of the VTM program Telefacts Nu.

The mail shows that the members were out to make it a harsh, sadistic affair during baptism. The salutation also sounds particularly harsh and cruel when you know that Sanda Dia, a 20-year-old student, would eventually die from all he had endured during that baptism.
Medieval
“It is very cynical, especially when you know the outcome of this whole story a few days later,” says Kris Luyckx, lawyer for two co-shafts of Sanda Dia, to VTM Nieuws. “It is clear that it will be a baptismal week that was not for wimps. And if you look at it afterwards, it is almost medieval what happened there. ”
Lucas Serrien, one of Sanda’s best friends, calls on the Reuzegom members in the broadcast to break the silence and tell what exactly happened during that fatally ended baptism.
