At least four people were killed in a shooting at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama, on Sunday. At least 28 people were injured. Some of them are in critical condition, local authorities said on Sunday.
During a press conference on Sunday evening, the authorities gave no further information about the perpetrators. It is also unknown if any arrests have been made. However, a police spokesperson said that there is no longer a threat to the community.
The shooting took place during a party for the sixteenth birthday of a resident of the village, where about 3,000 people live. According to the local newspaper The Montgomery Advertiser the brother of the birthday boy is one of the victims who did not survive the incident.
US President Joe Biden lashed out in a statement on Sunday at gun advocacy organization NRA and Republican politicians who support the gun lobby.
