According to the police, the explosion in an apartment complex in Vlissingen last Thursday did not cause an arson. A 64-year-old resident of the complex was killed in the fire and five others were injured.
Police investigated whether the fire might have been started, but reports Sunday that there are no indications for that.
After the explosion at 8.45 pm, a very large fire started in the apartment complex on Hogeweg. The emergency services pulled out with a lot of equipment.
The signal to fire was given at around 10.30 p.m. Because of the fire, 22 homes had to be evacuated.
It is not yet known what the cause of the fire is.
