Dead Island 2 is the continuation game of the same name, Dead Island, which was revealed in E3 2014. The first game was created by Techland and was a huge success. After that, the developers were planning a sequel, but they focused on Dying Light. Dead Island 2 was then transmitted to Yager Developments, then to Sumo Digital, then to Dambuster Studios. Now it’s the end of 2019, and there is still no sign of its release.

Many people thought that the game was not going to be released and that it was canceled because the developers knew nothing. But those rumors ended when Gamesindustry.biz interviewed Klemens Kundratitz, who is the CEO of Koch Media, owner of Deep Silver Publishing and, in turn, part of THQ Nordic. He said, “Look, Dead Island is a very important brand to us, and we have to do it right. It’s just a testament to our commitment to get it right. “

He further added that it’s a great story to tell everyone it’s on his third studio, but we like to be judged on the end result, and we’re really confident that when it comes out, it will be a game of zombies. We will definitely give it all of our power.

In addition, Kundratitz also confirmed that another studio, Volition, is still working on a new Saints Row game rather than a sequel to its Agents of Mayhem spin-off. He said, “Saints Row is close to our hearts and we will talk about it next year. Right now, we just wanted to let people know that it was going to happen and that it was going to be great. This is good news for fans of these two games. There is nothing else revealed about it.

Dead Island 2 Release Date – Update

We expect Dead Island 2 to be released by fall 2021 on next-generation consoles, such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Earlier, Kundratitz revealed that the delay is due to the fact that they are really dedicated to make the right game and from what is going on in the world right now, because of the Coronavirus, the game could be further delayed in the fall of 2021 or later.

For the moment, there is no trailer or news on Dead Island 2, the game was initially confirmed in 2014, during E3, and it’s been more than six years, there not much to do yet. We will share more updates with you as we go along.
