Days of Historical Parks and Gardens will take place in Latvian castles and manors / Article / LSM.lv

For the second time, Latvian Parks and Manors will host the Historical Parks and Gardens Day, which is organized to create a better understanding of cultural heritage in the public, promote research, restoration and sustainable use of gardens and parks, as well as local tourism, informs the Latvian Castles and Manors Association

26 castles and manors from all regions of Latvia will take part in the Days of Historical Parks and Gardens on July 4 and 5.

In Kurzeme, guests will be welcomed by Dundaga Castle, Durbe Castle, Jaunauce Castle, Jaunmoku Castle, Kazdanga Castle and Manor Park, Kuksu Manor, Spare Manor, Tash Manor, Tingere Manor and Ventspils Livonian Order Castle.

In Zemgale – Abgunste manor, Eleja manor Tea house, Ērberge manor, Lielplatone manor, Lielzalve manor, Pālena manor, Vecauce castle, Vecmeidele manor, Vilce manor, Vircava manor and Zaļā (Zaļenieki) manor.

In Vidzeme – Aluksne castle, Cesvaine castle manor, Krimulda manor and Ungurmuiza.

In Latgale – Varakļāni manor house.

Each participant has found their own story and narrator about the cherished park and garden and about the works done and planned in it; their scents and tastes in beds, on plates and glasses; your sounds in sheet music, instruments and human voices; its creative workshops, exciting board and garden games and sports tournaments to introduce, delight and involve everyone interested in both days or just one of them. You will also be able to see exhibitions, museum expositions, shop plants and fairs.

Associations are available in aggregate form for the Historical Parks and Garden Days program internet sites in the “News” and “Events” (calendar) sections. They can also be found on the websites and / or social networks of the participants – castles and manors. Before leaving, it is recommended to contact the contact person provided by the participant to clarify the information.

Participants will ensure that national epidemiological precautions are taken to control the spread of Covid-19 infection, and organizers call on visitors to take responsibility.
