Day of action in the Traunstein district: virtual shopping via video call

“Click & Collect” is not that easy to implement for small retailers without an online shop. But in three communities in the Traunstein district, business people turn it into a person-to-person encounter. Several retailers in Siegsdorf, Ruhpolding and Inzell are holding a virtual shopping day on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

List of the businesses involved in the Traunstein district

Until the evening, customers can virtually visit the shops on site via Skype or WhatsApp video call, get advice and order from the couch. The purchased goods can then be picked up at the respective shop. On the following Website all businesses that participate in the campaign are listed by Friday afternoon.

As the area manager of the three communities in the southern Trauntal, Sven Kriesche is the contact person for tradespeople and coordinates the campaign. “We have been carrying the idea around with us for a long time, but we have always had hope that shops will be allowed to open,” he says.

In the absence of prospects, the step is now necessary to prevent even more shops from having to give up. Because the town centers are already affected by the death of shops, said Kriesche.

Waging and Traunstein also interested in action

The area manager is currently in contact with other municipalities, such as Waging am See and the city of Traunstein, who have also shown interest in the campaign. If the shopping day is successful, Kriesche hopes that some stores will stick to the new put option.
