If the police did not speak about this incident, for some, it could be a reaction linked to the accusations of transphobia which he has been the subject of since his show Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones (and where he had made fun of transgender people) and which he had explained in the next show, The Closerand in which the stand-up star responded to critics accusing his detractors of being “too sensitive”. The 48-year-old comedian also added: “In our country you can shoot and kill”implied “a black man”specifying “but don’t you dare offend a gay person”. In the midst of a controversy, accused of targeting minorities (while he himself comes from a minority) the Netflix platform which broadcast the show, was also caught up in the turmoil, and had defended the comedian. According to videos posted on Twitter, the attacker, injured in the arm (by the security service) was evacuated on a stretcher by the emergency services.
