Virgil van Dijk acknowledge the quality Darwin Nunez as an attacker. But, to perfect the “science”, Nunez must first learn to Roberto Firmino.
Nunez became Liverpool’s most expensive purchase this summer after being brought in from Benfica with a tag of 64 million pounds. That price can add up to 80 million pounds if some of the clauses are met.
That means Nunez will become the most expensive player in Liverpool’s history, beating Virgil van Dijk’s record when he was bought for £75 million from Southampton in January 2018. A price that could burden Nunez’s performance on the field.

Nunez’s performance in the last pre-season session seemed to strengthen this fact. However, Van Dijk also reminded Nunez to take it easy and not mess around with the record.
“The goal was very important for him. For him it was the same as when I was first signed by Liverpool. For example, don’t think about your transfer price. I think he did that,” Van Dijk was quoted as saying. Telegraph.
Nunez scored his debut goal as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-1 in the Community Shield last weekend. Goals that might be able to relieve the burden a little.
