Hamburg (Dpa) – SV Darmstadt 98 haven’t let FC St. Pauli stop them, but they need to worry about their 2nd Bundesliga lead. The Hessians drew 1-1 (0-0) in Hamburg and have remained unbeaten in 13 league games.

Frank Ronstadt (60th) took Darmstadt to the lead. Lukas Daschner equalized nine minutes later. FC St. Pauli thus defended their streak at home. Hamburg suffered their last defeat at Millerntor last season on 23 April, against Darmstadt 98.

Due to the draw, Darmstadt must fear losing the top spot on Sunday. If SC Paderborn wins the duel against Hamburger SV, Ostwestfalen will overtake. FC St. Pauli are stuck in 13th place in the lower center of the league table.

Both teams didn’t wait long in front of 29,562 spectators in the sold-out Millerntor Stadium and started offense. After the break, the leader of the Hessian ranking recalled the offensive qualities of him. When Hamburg regained control, Ronstadt (60 ‘) scores with a nice shot after a great solo. St. Pauli coach Timo Schultz reacted, bringing Johannes Eggstein for Afeez Aremu, among others. The substitution paid off just a minute later when Daschner (69) used a pass from Eggstein to equalize.
