Cologne – The group took advantage of the moment when the ATMs were being repaired in a bank in Cologne-Nippes and stole a cash box. Now the Cologne police are looking for a total of eight people – seven men and one woman.

It’s Thursday May 11th. At around 12:50 p.m., the suspected thieves entered a Commerzbank branch on Neusser Strasse. According to the police, maintenance work is taking place at the ATMs at this time. Employees of a security company watch the anteroom.

They are said to have deliberately distracted the group around the suspected thieves so that they could steal a cash box placed on the floor unnoticed, the police report. Witnesses describe the men as “well-groomed” and they may have spoken Spanish.

Two of the suspects are said to be around 25 years old and about 1.70 meters tall. According to the police report, one of the men is corpulent, has protruding ears and is bald. According to witness statements, another accomplice is dark-haired and was wearing a light-colored shirt and light-colored pants at the time of the crime and headphones with wires in the ears.
