Hoffman was a machine gunner of the 93rd OMBR, before the outbreak of the war in Donbass he was engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the construction sector. However, after the events in Ilovaisk in August 2014, the man went to the front as a volunteer.
He took part in the battles for the Donetsk airport – he defended the old terminal, the control tower, the building of the fire department.
