Call of Duty Black Ops 2020: massive leaks on the game and its future Warzone map | Xbox One

The YouTuber TheXclusiveAce released a ton of information about the upcoming Call of Duty in a video that has now disappeared from the surface of YouTube. He gets it from a source he describes as 100% safe and credible (deleting his video would tend to prove it). It does not share any visual, but reveals a lot of interesting information about the next opus developed by Treyarch (more or less).

General info

The game will take place during the Cold War, it does not have a final title at the moment, but it is quite possible that it is CoD Black Ops. His code name is Zeus (and not Jesus).

Planned release date: end of Q3 2020 (September) which would be very early for a CoD. But following the various events it would be postponed to the beginning / half of the 4th quarter (October / November).

The game, which will contain a campaign, a zombie mode, a multiplayer and Warzone via a new map, is already almost finished:

  • multiplayer maps are built and just missing some textures
  • the campaign is fully playable, missing voices and some entertainment.

The mechanics of the game

Here, in bulk, everything that has been revealed on the mechanics of the next Call of Duty:

  • Return of the pre-Modern Warfare mini map where players appear on it if they fire without a silencer.
  • no war fog on the minimap as it was in BO4
  • pa compass of MW will always be present
  • no possibility of mounting his weapon on the background
  • it will always be possible to slide (no jumping flat like the first soundtracks)
  • return of the possibility of swimming; water will be present on multiplayer maps as well as in the center of the new Warzone map
  • more tactical sprint, only standard sprint and unlimited
  • more doors with which to interact in classic multiplayer, only in Warzone
  • no “specialist” mode as in the old Black Ops, but the combat improvements return in a certain way. Special equipment will therefore be associated with the classes, and in-game you will have to wait for the full loading of a gauge to use it. If it is not used, a second gauge will fill, more slowly, allow to use a second improvement. For example a turret which automatically shoots vehicles and gains de streaks (drone, helicopter, etc.), and something resembling ammunition boxes.
  • no asset dead silence, and the sounds of displacement are not known at the moment
  • Tactical equipment will occupy only one location, and unlike BO4 will not be blocked by a cool down. You will therefore have to choose between the usual equipment (flash, grenade, Semtex, ax, Molotov, etc …)
  • no system killstreaks like the Modern Warfare, but back to the scorestreaks (like MW’s Pointman advantage). A list of streaks who will be available: spy plane, radar jammer, bow, artillery strike, helicopter gunner, controlled missile, flame thrower, “death machine”, gunship, grenade launcher, “hand cannon” (possibly a pistol who kills in one shot), attack helicopter, napalm bombing, RCXD (very possibly the explosive radio-controlled vehicle), automatic turret and ground attack machine guns.
  • 150 life points instead of the usual 100. On the leaks, life was visible in the corner of the screen
  • The only visible weapons were an AK5 and a SPAS12 in secondary school, which could mean that shotguns could be chosen basic instead of the usual pistols or rocket launchers.
  • no prestige system spotted in les leaks, as in the old CoD, maybe definitively replaced by the season system introduced with Modern Warfare

Class creation system

No armory in the game (yet?), Just a weapon and its usual accessory locations to select. And that’s it, no plans or anything else.

The game will still offer the usual CoD class system, but with a bonus: by creating a class we will choose its two weapons, its 3 assets, its tactical equipment, its combat improvement system and also some kinds of jokers which will allow for example choosing an additional asset, an additional weapon accessory, or even carrying two main weapons, etc.

Game modes

No shooting mode in 2v2, but possibly a “tactical” 3v3 mode. The classic modes will be in 6v6.

No mode equivalent to Terrestrial War, however it is planned to have game modes taking place on sections of the new Warzone map.

Warzone

The game mechanics will be the same as the Warzone we know today, with adjustments specific to the new Call of Duty.

The new card will once again be in Russia. There will be a snowy area, marshes, a mine, and an area called “Duga” like the one near Chernobyl with its huge radar antennas, the latter being visible on the map.

The map seems smaller than Verdansk, and contains many more open areas (empty?) Than the latter, between each point of interest.

Multiplayer maps

Of the 9 leaked cards, some are quite large and do not look like the 3-line ones from Treyarch. Here are some details on some of them:

  • a small map on a boat in the middle of the black sea
  • a map called “mall” which seems larger and more complex
  • a very open map in the middle of the desert called “satellite” which is very reminiscent of “Afghan” from Modern Warfare 2
  • a map called “Tank” which seems to be a factory of … tanks, of medium or even small size, in the classic format with 3 symmetrical lines
  • a snowy map
  • a very small “Shoot House” map called “KGB”

The marketing campaign around the game will surely start soon, especially since we never remained without news of an upcoming Call of Duty so late in the year. We should be able to confirm some of this information in pictures soon, knowing that more now that all of this is in nature.
