Madrid: Former Brazil and Barcelona star Dani Alves was sentenced to four and a half years in prison and fined. The high court of Catalonia sentenced the star in a sexual assault case. 1.36 crore rupees should be paid by the actor as compensation.
According to the court judgment, the charge of rape against the actor has been proved and other evidence also clarifies the actor’s role. Alves reiterated throughout the trial that the sexual intercourse was consensual. But the star could not prove this in court.

The actor was taken into police custody in connection with the case. Alves has been in remand since then.
The incident related to the case is on December 30, 2022. Alves and his friend visited the Sutton night club in Barcelona. The 23-year-old complained that Alves sexually assaulted her that day in a private suite. The woman approached the police on January 2 this year. But Alves publicly responded on a television show that he did not know the woman.
But the actor was arrested on January 20. The trial started on the 5th of this month. The actor initially denied all the charges but later confessed to the crime.
