VIVA – The ceasefire has indeed been agreed by the parties Israel and the Hamas group Palestine. However, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is still carrying out investigations into suspected foreign interference, which is thought to be the culprit of the war.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict began on May 10, 2021, when a number of Israeli police officers raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. A number of Palestinians who were performing the Tarawih prayer were injured as a result of being beaten by the Israeli police.
After that incident, the group Hamas Palestine fired thousands of rockets towards Israeli territory. Not remaining silent, the Israeli military also responded to Hamas attacks by bombarding a number of points.
As a result, more than 200 Palestinians died. Meanwhile, thousands of people were injured. Many also left their homes to flee to a safe zone. After 11 days of armed confrontation, Israel and Palestinian Hamas finally agreed to a ceasefire, Friday, May 21, 2021.
