On Friday, the corona passport was officially launched in Denmark.
The corona passport, which the Norwegian authorities call a corona certificate, contains information on whether you have received a covid vaccine, have had an illness or tested negative.
The Danish authorities state that the corona passport can, for example, be used when traveling, going to a restaurant or a cultural event.
– The passport symbolizes how far we have come in Denmark, says Minister of Finance Nicolai Wammen at a press conference.
Can travel in the EU in July
The press conference was at the airport in Copenhagen, which was not a randomly chosen place.
Wammen says that the door will soon be open for the EU.

– From 1 July, you will be able to travel to the EU. The Korona passport can be used in Denmark, but it is also the key to traveling to the EU, says Wammen.
The app can also be used as documentation of vaccination, immunity or negative test in the EU.
– We are facing a bright time with both summer and better temperatures, but also that we can quietly lift a number of restrictions, and here the passport will make a difference, says the Minister of Finance.
More private
Denmark has had an earlier solution of a corona passport, an app called MinHealth. The app also showed other health information. A corona passport only shows information that applies to the corona.
The Korona app that the Danish authorities have developed shows two colors in the app if you can go to a restaurant for example: Green or red.
If it is green, it does not show why it is green. The Danish authorities state that they wanted to make the app more private, so that others will not know if they have been vaccinated, are immune or if they have tested negative.
You can also choose to be anonymous in the app.
It will not be necessary for the Danes to show ID in addition to the corona passport.
– We will use the corona passport for as long as necessary. When we have finished the vaccination, there is no corona passport anymore. Then it will be phased out, says Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke.

Korona passport also in Norway
The Norwegian authorities are also developing a corona passport, but they have not been as quick to develop it as the Danes.
The Norwegian authorities have said that the goal is for the corona certificate to be used during mid-June.
The use of the corona certificate will be far less than in Denmark.
In this country, it is first and foremost relevant to present the app at public events, cruises and other “package tours”.
In order for the corona certificate to be used in the EU, it must be in line with the framework of the union.
