Dan Ceman is the new trainer at EC VSV

With Dan Ceman, the EC VSV has presented its new head coach for the coming season. The 46-year-old succeeds Rob Daum. Most recently, the Canadian was in the Slovakia hired at HC Banska Bystrica. He signed a one-year contract.

Dan Ceman has had a number of successes in his young coaching career: at the start of the 2013/14 season, the almost 47-year-old coached the Danish first division team SønderjyskE for five seasons, winning the national title twice. In the last two seasons he was in charge of HC Banska Bystrica in the Slovakian Tipsport Extraliga. In his first year (18/19), he won the title, in the season that had ended due to the corona pandemic, Bystrica was also in first place in the table.

“Dan Ceman is a successful and young trainer who stands for modern, fast ice hockey and also fits us perfectly in terms of character. The opportunity opened up for him at short notice, so we immediately accessed it and quickly agreed with him. I am happy that we were able to win him over to the VSV, ”explains VSV sports director Gerald Rauchwald.

“Villach is a traditional and good place for ice hockey. It is an honor for me to act as head coach here. My family and I can’t wait to come to Villach. I am really looking forward to it and I am convinced that I will form a team and put it on the ice that will make VSV fans enthusiastic and proud, ”said Dan Ceman in a first statement.
