The General Category Al-Gir Qarmousha – Chicken race, which was held today, Sunday, as part of the falconry competition organized by the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, resulted in “Dalma” for the Dubai team winning the race title. The Ashout Al-Sheyoukh competitions will be held tomorrow, Monday, and the day after tomorrow, Tuesday.
“Dalma” covered the race distance in 16.678 seconds, and “Mayassa” for the Nad Al Sheba team came second, after covering the distance by a small margin from the champion, in a time of 16.737 seconds, and “G45” for Rashid Abdullah Hamad Al Marri came third, with a time of 16.754 seconds.
“GG1” came fourth for the Al-Fursan team, fifth was “4060” for the Dubai team, sixth was “GG2” for the Al-Fursan team, seventh was “G2” for Rashid Salem Atiq Al-Mazrouei, eighth was “Souda” for Hamad Ahmed bin Mejren, and ninth was “100.” For the Nad Al Sheba team, and “HL 31” came tenth. 78 falcons from various parts of the country participated in the race.
The Sheikh Zayed Falconry Festival competition comes within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club’s cooperation with the festival, and the club’s keenness to participate and be present in major heritage events that enhance the existence of national heritage.
