The script for Daisy Ridley’s upcoming solo Star Wars film is reportedly expected to be submitted to Lucasfilm by the end of November 2023.

The script for Daisy Ridley’s next Star Wars solo film will reportedly be submitted to Lucasfilm by the end of November 2023. Recently, Star Wars News Net published an article stating that Steven Knight’s script for the Star Wars film starring Ridley as Rey is scheduled to arrive at Lucasfilm on November 23, 2023, the Thanksgiving holiday. If there are no major flaws in the script, Lucasfilm should have enough time to review it and could pass on its comments to Knight before Christmas. This would ensure that production of the film can begin as planned in 2024.
Before the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike began in May 2023, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy provided information about the status of script production as early as April 2023. At that time she stated that the script was about a month and a half away from completion. Additionally, Kennedy announced at Star Wars Celebration in April 2023 that Ridley would return to the franchise for a new film and continue Rey’s story. Following the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters in 2019, the film will show Rey building a new Jedi Order.
The director is Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who will already be directing episodes of “Ms. Marvel” staged. Screenwriter Knight can look back on a number of renowned projects. His portfolio includes the screenplays for “Locke” from 2013, which he also directed, “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” from 2018 and “Spencer” from 2021. He is also the creator of the series “Peaky Blinders” about Cillian Murphy.
However, further details about the cast, plot or an official release date for the new Star Wars film starring Ridley have not yet been announced. Most recently it was said that production could begin in 2024.
