daily strike at the Valmy hospital over a bonus issue

This is France Bleu Bourgogne information. At the Dijon Bourgogne private hospital, in Valmy, the staff working on an outpatient basis have the unpleasant impression of being had, especially the nurses. According to them, a year ago they learned that their colleagues in the operating room were receiving a bonus. Except that no one in the surgery saw the color. They then asked the management to take an interest in this control as well, in vain. From Monday 5 December they were launched a disengagement operation an hour, every morning around 7 in the morning, to be heard. Other trades, such as cleaners, carers or stretcher bearers, are an integral part of the movement.

A feeling of inequality

The problem is not that some have a premium. But it is not paid at all. This generates a feeling of inequality, whereas outpatient nurses and operating room nurses have it mostly of the same rank. Protesters tried to talk to management to get this bonus. categorical refusal. According to them, the management replies that this bonus is intended for “technical nurses”, and that it does not concern them.

The topic of this “technical” side does not like the striking personnel at all. “What does saying that we are not technicians mean? What is it like to be a technician?asks one of the striking nurses. Yes, it’s true that we’re not in the operating room, that we don’t serve doctors, that we don’t open boxes. But, in addition to this, we welcome patients, we put infusions, surveys, we have technical documents.“So what dominates is this feeling of being left out.”This is discriminatinghe insists. We are actors in this company, we can say, too, to our piece of cake.

A necessary break

The personnel who initiated this strike are not doing it lightheartedly. “This is very sorry to take patients hostagesays a nurse in the service. But we don’t have anything for nothing either. We take them hostage, of course, just for an hour and they’re still being treated, they go to surgery.“The strikers insist they don’t want to hurt patients, but that it’s the only way to be heard.

This strike is also an opportunity to inform patients directly about the situation of the nursing body. “We have more than pathetic salaries compared to public service. For a nurse, we can count almost 500 euros difference with the CHU, explains one of the strikers. We have the impression that we have discounted diplomas. At some point, shareholders will also have to react to this.

Contacted, management no did not want to answer our questions.
