Daewoo E&C (CEO Jeong-Wan Baek), which participated as an economic delegation between Korea and Poland, announced that it signed an MOU with the Polish Construction Association and ERBUD, the third-largest local construction company, in Warsaw, Poland on July 14 to establish cooperative relations.
On this day, the MOU was signed by Han Seung, head of overseas business (executive director) at Daewoo E&C, Przemyslaw Janiszewski, member of the supervisory committee at the Polish Construction Association, and Agnieszka Głowacka and Jacek Rechkov at ERBUD. Management Board executive Jacek Leczkowski attended and signed the agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by Daewoo E&C Chairman Jeong Won-joo, Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Lee Chang-yang, and Poland’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology Waldemar Buda.
Through this business agreement, Daewoo E&C has established a network with local construction companies in Poland, and through cooperation with these companies, it is expected that it will be possible to promote projects in various business fields such as energy and infrastructure in addition to the ongoing nuclear power plant project. In November 2021, Daewoo E&C signed MOUs with BUDIMEX, the No. 1 local company in Poland, and POLIMEX-Mostostal, the No. 2 company in June 2022, for cooperation in new nuclear power plant projects.
In addition, on July 14, Daewoo E&C participated in a networking event for construction companies between Korea, Poland and Ukraine for reconstruction cooperation in Ukraine organized by the Overseas Construction Association, and had a chance to exchange with Polish and Ukrainian companies.
An official from Daewoo E&C said, “Daewoo E&C is already preparing to enter the commercial nuclear power plant market in Poland as Team Korea with KHNP. “We can expect to secure opportunities to participate in a number of projects, such as public infrastructure projects and new growth projects in the Polish construction market, which has entered an expansion phase, and thanks to the government’s active support, We will showcase our construction technology and contribute to enhancing national prestige.”
