Under the Romanian brand Dacia, which is part of the Renault group, in Europe they sell our popular models Logan, Sandero and Duster. However, the electrification that Renault is currently experiencing will soon affect its subsidiary brand. This is not about hybrid modifications of the future Logan and Sandero, which are already being tested, but about a completely new electric car, which will be shown for two years.
Judging by the official table, Renault plans to release an electric version of the Twingo hatchback, which is likely to turn out to be a technical analogue of the smart EQ forfour model. And then an electric car will appear, which is conditionally called the Dacia Urban City car (“twice a city car”?). There are no details yet, however, we can assume that this will be a version of the Renault City K-ZE model (in the title photo), which has been sold on the Chinese market since last year.
Previously, Renault representatives said that this compact electric hatchback will become a global model and will be the most popular in the “electric” market. At the same time, this small five-door is unlikely to get to Europe under the original brand – here the brand Dacia is precisely prepared for such machines. And Renault’s future plans include the release of a new model built on a modular electric platform CMF-EV, the development of which the head of the Renault electric vehicle company Gilles Norman spoke about a year and a half ago.
