A total of six new players intervened in Friday’s retaliation. Kváč’s goalkeeper made his national debut. Šulák, Galvas and Sklenička jumped into the defense, and Šimon Stránský and Sekáč appeared in offensive formations.

The Czechs entered the match with a completely different expression than in Thursday’s duel. They attacked from the beginning, were active and skated well. Konrád solved several tricky situations and shots played by Blümel, Flek, Galvas or Šimon Stránský. Kváča was not in such permanence in the first part, yet he could be the first to collect in the match. Cehlárik’s Grman’s cannonball flowed into the left pole, from which the puck bounced to the right and then out. Although the Slovaks raised their hands above their heads, the judge broke the video after consulting with a colleague. The score was still goalless.

The activity of the Czech team continued even after the break. Tomáškova teč was not over in the net yet. At the end of the 24th minute he received a puck to the back guard of Flek, found Adam Musil in front of the gate, who did not let himself be pushed away and first passed the disc between the concretes of the Slovak goalkeeper. “Nice recording from Flíček. I tried to get in front of Beka and be as strong as possible on a hockey stick, “the Liberec Center commented for Czech Television on its second hit for the national team.

But the joy of the home switch soon faded. After a mistake in the middle zone, Roman soon released Fašek-Rudáš and the new reinforcement of Liberec for the next season passed the puck for his future teammate Kváč with a frog under his arm.

The goal encouraged the Slovaks and the Liberec goalkeeper had something to show off. After a risky back from the back guard, the puck got to Slafkovsky’s stick, which, however, did not surpass the excellent Kváč as well as after the predatory penetration of Ďalog. Tutovka was then burned by Holešinský, who shot the exposed gate up close. In the balanced middle part, other Czech chances were born only in its second half. Radil did not mature on Konrád and Blümel also ended up in the renumbering of two to one.

The Czechs rejoiced until the very beginning of the third period. Šulák beat Šustr in the signaled advantage, who hit the Slovak goalkeeper with a hard blow. The lead could be even more pronounced, Hynek Zohorna picked up speed in the middle zone, slipped beautifully between the opponents and ran alone to Konrád. In the offensive third, however, he tripped unhappily, although he managed to get to his feet and put on a backhand bluff, but the puck missed the goal.

Flek could have reached the opponent, but he did not add a third goal and in the end there was a real drama. The Slovaks first sounded the right pole, then tried it on the ice at six, but Kváča saved the team from leveling with a famous intervention a few seconds before the 60th minute expired.
