This summer, the Latvian national team is expected not only to play in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Serbia (June 30) and Slovakia (July 3), but also a couple of test matches against their neighbors from Lithuania.
First, the Latvian national team will host the Lithuanian national team on June 22 at Arena Riga, but then on June 26, they will meet again in the Lithuanian city of Siauliai, with Latvian basketball players in the role of guests, LTV revealed the Secretary General of LBS.
Cyprus also mentioned that the best basketball players, including the National Basketball Association (NBA) Kristaps Porziņģis and Dāvis Bertāns.

Cyprus is optimistic about seeing both Porziņģi and Bertāni in the national ranks next summer and believes that players’ insurance would not need such large sums that LBS would not be able to cover it. At present, the union has no plans to address the country to support LBS. Cyprus also pointed out that Bertan already played in the national team in the pre-qualifying round of the 2023 World Cup last summer.
