Former PSV player Jefferson Farfán is the first player from the Russian Premjer Liga to be infected with the corona virus. His employer Lokomotiv Moscow officially confirmed the news on Saturday.
The 35-year-old Peruvian reported to Nikita Karlitsky, the club doctor of Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this week. “He had a headache three days ago (Wednesday, ed.) And was weak. He had a fever and had to cough,” he tells the club site. The medical staff decided to perform a corona test and received the result on Saturday: Farfán’s test was positive. “We immediately started the treatment. Hopefully you can Jeff be back on the field in three to four weeks. “
La Foquita celebrated great successes with PSV between 2004 and 2008, then played for Schalke 04 and Al-Jazira and has played in Russia since 2017. He recently became discredited after refusing to turn in part of his salary. However, Farfán went through the dust later, emphasizing that it was a joke.
