The city of Würzburg reported at the beginning of August that the bus lane had been released for cyclists and a cycle lane into town on Höchberger Strasse. The work is now close to being completed and will enable a quick and comfortable ride from Höchberg by bike to Würzburg.
Because there have been more inquiries about cycling out of town since then, the city is now announcing that bicycles can only be used in mixed traffic on Höchberger Straße out of town, but not on foot. After a detailed examination by the traffic authority, the footpath could not be released for cyclists for formal reasons.
To get from Würzburg to Höchberg by bike, the city recommends choosing the nicer route with a view over Frankfurter Straße, Scherenbergstraße, Spessartstraße and Gänsleinsweg. Corresponding signposts have been set up for orientation.
