Cyclist seriously injured in accident in Bremen

On Friday evening there was a traffic accident between a 67-year-old cyclist and a 57-year-old cyclist on the Jan-Reinders-Wanderweg. Police said the woman suffered minor injuries and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. At around 6:30 p.m., both were on the Jan Reiners hiking trail in the direction of the Horn-Lehe motorway feeder road. The 67-year-old wanted to overtake the cyclist on the left at about the level of the feeder. He touched the 57-year-old – and both fell. The man suffered such serious head injuries that he had to be taken to a hospital after receiving first aid from an emergency doctor.

The further investigations into the course of the accident are ongoing. The traffic readiness service of the Bremen Police Department accepts witness information at any time on (0421) 362-14850.
