Customers should never be in front of empty shelves again: Aldi breaks taboo – and starts a new service

In the past, certain offers often caused long lines in front of the branches. A few years ago there were even beatings because of a sold out food processor. The tool now helps to work around these problems.

Promotional offers are actually helpful tools for discounters to lure customers into the branches. The idea originally came from the USA. Consumers should not only buy these special offers, but also fill their shopping trolleys with groceries at the same time. The higher the value of the goods, the stronger the sales and the more profitable the business.

In order for customers to come to the store several times, the discounters specifically focus on offers that change weekly (at least twice a week). Because the storage rooms are often not very large, the goods are only available in limited numbers. The new tool from Aldi Süd is now fundamentally changing the discounter concept. If customers see that a tempting offer is no longer available, they no longer need to go to the discounter.

The tool still helps to create a certain transparency. Customers often complain on social media that they no longer found certain promotional items a few hours after the shop opened.
