“Current Regulations Regarding Corona Virus Outlined by Verbraucherzentrale.de”

Who is considered fully vaccinated?

With the Infection Protection Act, from October 1, 2022, only people with 3 individual vaccinations will be considered fully vaccinated.
Even with a combination of 2 vaccine doses and a previous corona infection, you are considered fully vaccinated as follows:
• PLUS positive antibody test prior to first vaccination OR
• PLUS a SARS-CoV-2 infection detected by PCR test before the second vaccination OR
• PLUS a SARS-CoV-2 infection detected by a PCR test after the second vaccination (28 days must have passed since the test).
Important questions and answers about vaccination can be found in the linked article.

What about child sickness benefit?

The regulation on child sickness benefits will be extended until April 7, 2023. In 2023, you will be entitled to sick pay for a maximum of 30 working days if your child falls ill or has to be cared for at home due to the pandemic. For single parents in the statutory health insurance, this applies to a maximum of 60 working days.

Further Information on child sickness benefit can be found in the FAQ of the Federal Ministry for Families, Women, Senior Citizens and Young People.

Telephone sick leave ends

From April 1, 2023, it will no longer be possible to call in sick leave due to a mild illness of the upper respiratory tract. This also applies if you need a doctor’s certificate in order to receive sick pay when your child is ill.

What applies to the early detection examinations for children?

You can make up for postponed early detection examinations such as the U6, U7, U7a, U8 and U9 until June 30, 2023. From April 1, 2023, the regular deadlines for early detection examinations for children will apply again.

What is the Pandemic Radar?

The pandemic radar is intended to provide the federal states with a meaningful picture for assessing the risk situation. For this reason, there will be numerous new data collections from October 1, 2022. So there should be better and, above all, daily information on bed occupancy. The reason why patients are admitted for inpatient treatment is also recorded. In addition, data from wastewater monitoring are to be collected. Existing data such as incidence or R values remain.

What about the vaccination certificates in the Corona-Warn-App?

With the help of the Corona-Warn-App, people who have had contact with people infected with COVID-19 can be informed earlier and more precisely about the risk of infection.

The Corona-Warn-App can save certificates of several people (e.g. different family members). To do this, select the “Certificates” tab and then “Add Certificates”. With the QR code, vaccination against COVID-19 can also be digitally verified.

Important to know: Expired certificates can be renewed in the app. With an update to app version 2.23, you can directly renew expired vaccination and recovery certificates. So you no longer have to go to a pharmacy or doctor’s office.

The extension applies to certificates that have reached their technical validity. The technical validity is determined, among other things, for reasons of IT security and has nothing to do with the medical (professional) validity, so it says nothing about your immunization or the strength of your vaccination protection. A technically expired certificate must therefore be renewed even if vaccination protection still exists.

From 28 days before their technical validity expires and up to 90 days after that, you can renew the affected certificates. The app will let you know when you open it. What that looks like and what you need to tap is explained in the Blog of the app developers shown.

It also explains that only the most recent vaccination certificate needs to be renewed. So if you don’t see an option to update your first or second certificate, this is normal and not a technical error.

A renewal will not for test certificates offered because they are technically not valid for long.

An affected certificate can be renewed a maximum of three times. For example, if you have saved it on several devices, the responsible Robert Koch Institute recommends that you export the newly issued certificate as a PDF file and print it out. You can rescan the QR code with any number of devices.

From the point of view of the consumer advice centers, a PDF file definitely makes sense so that you can rescan the certificate if you lose or change your smartphone. Because the certificates are not stored centrally anywhere.

New function of the Corona-Warn-App

With version 3.0 it is now possible to set positive self-test results and to warn contact persons.
