FELL IN LOVE with a partner it should bring pleasure. But what happens, nearly half of all women have felt sad after or during have sex, says a study.
This is a condition called post-sex blues, which is a condition characterized by feelings of sadness, melancholy, depression, crying, or fatigue after intercourse, as reported by Okezone from The Health Site.
A study involving 230 sexually active women between the ages of 18 and 55 analyzed how often they experienced the post-sex blues.
As a result, 46 respondents reported experiencing this condition at least once during intercourse. In fact, one in 20 respondents (about 5% of respondents) have experienced it multiple times in the past four weeks.
The research, published in Sexual Medicine, points out that post-sex blues are not related to the level of intimacy of the partner, but rather stems from a genetic component or from having had bad experiences in their previous sex life.
The post-sex blues has several main symptoms such as stress or depression. Negative feelings appear after orgasm for no specific reason.

Until now, it is unknown exactly what causes the post-sex blues. A researcher named Viljoen suspects this has something to do with the nerves in the brain. Neurotransmitters, also known as transmitters of positive feeling signals, do not function normally.
