Crispbread is recalled after poisoning

Too many okratoxins have been found in crispbread, the company states in one press release Friday afternoon.

Crispbread in Norway is also being recalled, the company informs TV 2.

These products are recalled: Brown-saved crispy round, Brown-saved crispy triangle, Minirut brown-baked, Round-cut normal-baked and Round-cut brown-baked. The best before date is: 22-01-09 and 22-01-10.

The product that is being recalled in Norway is “Well-fried triangle”. This applies to crispbread with the best before date 22-01-09.

– This is not serious. You have to eat a lot and for a long time for it to work. The limit for this toxin is set strictly, says marketing manager Annika Sund in Leksands to TV 2.

Ocratoxins are naturally occurring toxins that can be found in moldy grains, peanuts, meat, dried fish and the like, according to Store norske leksikon. The drug can cause kidney damage in humans and is suspected to be carcinogenic.
