Criminal Investigation Department sees links in at least ten serious violent crimes Inland

According to the police, the Eindhoven region regularly has to deal with conflicts in the drug environment, which are fought on public roads.

The East Brabant Criminal Investigation Department conducted extensive investigations into the conflicts over the past year and concluded that parallels can be seen in at least ten cases. Ron van Brussel, manager in the police organization: “In several investigations, information came to the police department that fed the scenario that members from multiple criminal networks kill each other.”

Prevent tunnel vision

Each incident was investigated separately, but also the similarities between the different cases were examined. From Brussels: “It is of the utmost importance to first collect relevant information and only then draw conclusions to avoid tunnel vision.”

That not everyone wants to talk to the police about violent incidents can cause uncertainty about the background of a case.

Agreements discovered by the police in various cases varied from vehicles to suspects’ postures, for example the same scooter was involved in several incidents.

Conflicts between multiple criminal networks in the area

Van Brussel: “Criminal contacts play a direct or indirect role in many of the investigations. We suspect that there are conflicts between several criminal networks in the Eindhoven area and that extreme violence is being used to settle those quarrels. That is not to say that the victims in these cases were all criminal or had such contacts. ”

To investigate these matters better, the police have launched a special website. People who know more but have not yet spoken to the police can contact us. From Brussels: “We expect that there are people who know more but who have not yet spoken to the police about this, for example out of fear.” That is why there is also the opportunity to share information anonymously. You will find the specially opened page here.
